Digital copies of GTA VI will be available to preload from November 10, 2026. That date appears in Rockstar's support article, updated on November 3. Downloads open at midnight local time on PS5, and simultaneously worldwide at 00:00 GMT on Xbox Series X|S.
Previously, Take-Two's June 24 press release listed November 12 for digital preloading. If you saved the old date in your calendar, change it: Rockstar's newer guidance gives you two additional days to download the game before release. That is particularly useful if your connection is slow or you share a console with your family.
The platforms use different timing rules. On PS5, the reference point is local midnight; on Xbox, you need to convert 00:00 GMT to your own time zone. Do not expect both consoles to start downloading at the same moment in your city. PlayStation's support page also confirms November 10 for PS5.
The practical step now is to check your pre-order account and available storage, then set up automatic downloading. Once the relevant time arrives, check the actual download progress. A pre-order alone does not mean the files have already reached your console, and a completed preload does not grant early access to the game.
